BE PART OF THE BIGGEST DASH EVER
This Year’s DW DASH will feature a SUP and SURF SKI race.
The race will have one combined start for SUP and Surfski.
The Langebaan to Saldanha DW is one of the most challenging and interesting DW routes.
The Course does require intermediate or above DW level skill and experience.
It is advisable to launch at LYC or Sandy Bay and paddle 45 degrees across to behind Schaapen Island for the start.
The Course will feature a water start on the western side of Schaapen Island, the start line shall be between a Large Rubber Duck with flag and the tip of the island.
It is advisable to start as far west as possible, ie closest to the boat.
The start sequence will be a standard 5 minutes sequence, run by Bruce Tedder email@example.com and the duck will follow the participants a rescue.
Please read “sailing instructions” on the website as safety and rescue conditions apply to paddlers as well.
Paddlers need life jacket and flare or cell phone race control number on your race bracelet if u floating lonely in the bay.
The first 50 entries shall get a race vest, , goodie bag and fish braai or burger at finish first 10 each a medal
The starts will be co ordinated to ensure most competitors finish at a similar time to enjoy the vibe and music at the Saldanha Beach Sailing Club Finish.
Note the finish will be paddle to the beach and run up to the arch for finish official.
The forecast is looking fantastic with a building South Wind.

The SUP race and Sufski race are viewed as separate categories with prizes for each category.
Both the Langebaan paddling and SUP clubs are participating in this iconic event, there are several local legends with the likes of the Kohler, Hales, Bertish who know the routes well so from the sharp end of the fleet backwards there will be lots of sport and fun to be had.
